How to Get Your Mind to Focus On Outcomes?

How to get your mind to focus on outcomes? Our brains are amazing and wildly analytical. They are constantly analyzing everyday information and filtering out sensory inputs important enough to store in our conscious and subconscious minds at any given time.

How to get your mind to focus on outcomes?

Our reticular activating system, or RAS, is functioning in the background of our minds, going through sensory input and alerts that can mean the difference between our survival and us being in mortal danger.

A person’s brain is fully equipped with everything needed to come up with complicated calculations and quick decisions. It is also quite adept at storing tons of information and memories.

Our limitless brain

The human brain is amazingly capable to be sure, but it does have one stark limitation: it cannot think for itself. A person has to consciously and actively think in order to generate ideas, process information, and maintain current value sets and beliefs.

Our conscious mind is the motor that keeps the brain going. If the subconscious brain is left alone to generate ideas without involving the conscious mind, things can go awry quickly.

It’s important to be aware of how your mind works. In order to successfully create positive change in your life, you have to be willing to focus on and adjust how you think.

The Outcome Frame

Defining the outcome frame

More than just a positive mental filter, the outcome frame is a method of solving problems Defining the outcome frameand achieving goals. Negative mental filters end up making your worldview miserable. Positive mental filters such as the outcome frame can change how you view success, failures, and challenges.

If you want to step out of your current negative frame and into the outcome frame, it’s pretty easy – especially for anyone who wants to overcome the power of a negative mindset.

The first step in your transformation is to consistently ask yourself, “What lesson have I learned?”

This one simple question will direct you away from such negative questions as “Who is at fault for this problem?” or “Why is this problem still lingering?”

Garnering important lessons via feedback from your own unique experiences will teach your mind to ignore the negative mental filters. Instead, you will be inclined to positive and constructive thinking.
When you are trying to shift to an outcome frame keep in mind that very few people are successful on their first attempt. If you are able to shift successfully, wonderful! You have begun your journey of overcoming current obstacles.

If you feel as though you haven’t garnered anything from your past, don’t give up. Keep trying. Eventually, your subconscious will give you the information you need. Continue to ask yourself, “What lesson have I learned?”

Keeping the brain happy

Your brain has a natural inclination to produce images and toys with information. “The human mind is like a boisterous monkey,” a philosopher once said. “You need to take ahold of it and put a path in front of it so it doesn’t swing wildly from one place to the next.”

When you purposely lay out a path for your brains such as a plan or a major goal, it will utilize the path to form targeted behavior and ideas.

It’s not likely that your mind will wander when it is focused on attaining the goal at hand. It will be working diligently toward that goal – just like you want it to. When the mind wanders, it can be destructive because it doesn’t have the conscious mind as a guide; it is solely relying on the subconscious mind.

These subconscious motivations are usually never sustainable. If those motivations are to be entertained, they should be so shrewdly.

Remember this the next time you want to leave everything behind and live in a treehouse, away from everything that modern living has to offer. Our minds can generate wild ideas in a matter of moments, but not all of these ideas can be considered reliable for our thinking and behavior.

Is success still possible after setbacks?

Setbacks, when perceived by neurolinguistic programming (NLP), are basically instances where something didn’t work well.

These setbacks don’t define who you are; they don’t define your natural talents and abilities. It would be completely wrong to think you can’t overcome them.
